SAN JOSE – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a driver on a South Bay freeway Tuesday night, according to authorities.

Motorcyclist dies in solo crash Sunday night in San Jose

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. on southbound Interstate 680 at Berryessa Road in San Jose, said California Highway Patrol Officer Ross Lee.

Lee said the driver stopped at the scene.

All southbound lanes of the freeway were closed and traffic was diverted onto Berryessa Road.

One lane reopened around 9:45 p.m. but the others remained closed as of 10:45 p.m.
