The 118 Freeway at De Soto Avenue in the west Valley has been closed at both the on- and off-ramps following a police response to a potential explosive device on Thursday, Nov. 21.
De Soto Avenue is also closed at Rinaldi Street.
A SIG Alert was issued around 11 a.m. and broadcast reports state that the Los Angeles Police Department and California Highway Patrol are on scene, investigating a potential pipe bomb.
The CHP West Valley division on X advised the public to avoid the area, stating that “the on and off ramps will be closed for an unknown duration.”
