Woman fatally stabbed during argument in Bronzeville; 1 in custody

A man was arrested Tuesday after a woman was stabbed to death during an argument in the Bronzeville neighborhood, police said.

The woman, 38, was arguing with a 61-year-old man in the 700 block of East 43rd Street when she sprayed him in the face with a “chemical agent” about 9:30 a.m., Chicago police said.

The man then pulled out a knife and stabbed her in the thigh, police said. She was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Officers placed the man under arrest and charges were pending, police said.
