After Homeland Security raided two of Combs’ properties in March 2024, federal agents took Combs into custody in September 2024, and he now faces charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. A staffer who worked on films with Lopez recently spoke out and claimed Lopez has nothing to do with Combs’ crimes. </p>

After their relationship ended (which Lopez later admitted involved infidelity from Combs), they maintained a friendship. </p>

Lopez attended <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/model-said-diddy-watched-jennifer-lopezs-music-video-continuous-loop-party-seemed-creepy.html/”>Combs’ A-list parties</a> in the early 2000s. Several lawsuits against Combs claim he drugged and sexually assaulted partygoers during “freak-offs” — sex gatherings that went on for days. </p>
<p id=”par-4_100″>Thea de Sousa, a staff member who worked on Lopez’s 2002 film, <em>Maid In Manhattan</em>, defended Lopez on Threads. “If you knew Jennifer Lopez, if you ever worked with her like I did, or if you were close with people who are like family to her like I am, you would know she did not have any idea about Diddy,” Sousa said, according to <a href=”https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-14050743/jennifer-lopez-ex-staffer-speaks-star-connection-diddy.html” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>DailyMail.com</a>. “She barely drinks, she is not a partier, she isn’t a good time girl, she is a workaholic who uplifts a woman and who was charmed by him for a brief time in her life.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_19″>Sousa ended her post by stating Lopez “does not deserve to be conflated with [Combs’] shocking and criminal misdeeds.”</p>

<p id=”par-7_65″>“Jennifer Lopez’s presence the night of the shooting incident and then departing in the same vehicle as Combs makes her a witness with firsthand knowledge and could subject her to being subpoenaed to testify under oath,” New York lawyer Pete Gleason told <a href=”https://www.intouchweekly.com/posts/jennifer-lopez-could-be-subpoenaed-in-diddys-lawsuits/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>In Touch Weekly</a>. “If there are any criminal charges or civil claims not outside the statute of limitations, this would likely prove problematic for Lopez.”</p>
<p id=”par-8_55″>In 1999, gunfire injured three people at Club New York in Manhattan. Lopez, Combs, and Combs’ bodyguard, Anthony “Wolf” Jones, fled the scene. Police arrested and detained Combs and Lopez after the shooting, but they got off with no charges. Natania Reuben, one of the victims during the shooting, maintains that Combs shot her. </p>

An insider told <a href=”https://www.intouchweekly.com/posts/diddys-meticulous-records-enough-to-hang-half-of-hollywood-excl/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>In Touch Weekly</a> that Combs’ famous friends consider him “radioactive” and want nothing to do with him.</p>
<p id=”par-10_27″>“Even if he hasn’t been found guilty, his name is mud, and it would [be] social suicide to have anything to do with him,” the source explained.</p>
<p id=”par-11_40″>The source added that <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/sean-diddy-combs-expected-exes-like-j-lo-cameron-diaz-stand-source-says.html/”>Combs thought his exes, like Lopez and Cameron Diaz</a>, would stand by him. “He can’t wrap his head around the fact that everyone’s just dropped him and wants no part of his sordid scandal,” they alleged.</p>
