Texas-based convenience store and gas station Buc-ee’s is looking to open up a second Colorado location in Palmer Lake.
The company is still in the early planning stages and has inquired about the town annexing land for the potential gas station at County Line Road and Interstate 25, according to a Facebook post by Palmer Lake Mayor Glant Havenar.
The Palmer Lake Board of Trustees has granted an eligibility hearing to the company that will take place Dec. 12.
“This hearing is not to annex the land, it is simply to determine if the owner is eligible to move forward in the process,” Havenar said in the post.
“Residents are encouraged to attend that meeting to learn more, ask questions and make comments.”
The mayor added that if Buc-ee’s is determined to be eligible for annexation at the hearing, they would likely hold a series of community meetings. And a subsequent annexation request would also require public hearings.

A Buc-ee’s spokesperson told The Post that they cannot provide a comment about the potential location at this time.
