Sacred Heart Prep 14, Menlo School 11

The Atherton rivals and next-door neighbors saw the Gators come out on top in a West Catholic Athletic League semifinal matchup on Thursday. 

Clay Carrington and Gates Gamble combined for 10 goals as the Gators locked up a spot in the league title game. SHP will play St. Francis on Saturday.

Menlo School gave SHP everything it could handle, though, with Calvin Barad scoring a team-high six goals, and Adam Afar dishing out three assists. 

Pittsburg 29, Antioch 10

Blaze Tecson scored eight goals and Nico Guillermo put in seven past the keeper as Pittsburg routed rival Antioch. Senior Patrick Stone had five goals and four assists as well as the Pirates improved to 11-15 on the season. 

Girls flag football

Andrew Hill 12, Lincoln-San Jose 6

Andrew Hill put itself in position to win the inaugural Blossom Valley Athletic League title with a scrappy victory over high-powered Lincoln-San Jose. 

Jazmine Turcios had 10 catches and caught the game-winning touchdown from Annaliyah Felix. Meanwhile, Jenifer Lopez ran for a score and had an interception.

Hill improved to 15-2 overall and 14-2 in league play. Lincoln fell to 18-3, 13-3. 

Girls water polo

Freedom 16, Antioch 3

Alyssa Price had four assists and four steals as she set up teammates in an easy victory over Antioch. Michelle Mora had three goals and three assists, and Ella Leal bagged three goals and also had an assist. 

Addison Tryon scored twice, while Addison Cameron and Mariana Montenegro each had one goal and two assists apiece. Goalkeeper Sydney Placencia had 10 saves as Freedom improved to 11-12, 4-1.

Washington-Fremont 14, Newark Memorial 7

The Mission Valley championship matchup is set as defending title-holders Washington will face James Logan. Washington defeated the Colts 16-5 on Oct. 23  in the teams’ only regular-season matchup.
