One man died and another man was detained following a shooting in north Aurora early Friday morning, according to police.
Officers responded to the shooting at an apartment in the 10900 block of East 16th Avenue near East Colfax Avenue at about 1:45 a.m. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
Police provided emergency medical care to the man until paramedics arrived and transported him to a local hospital, where he died soon after.

The victim will be identified by the Office of the Coroner of Adams & Broomfield Counties. The Aurora Police Department’s Major Crime Homicide Unit is investigating the circumstances of the shooting, police said.
