Two teenagers were shot, one of them fatally, in Gage Park Sunday night on the Southwest Side, police said.
The two were walking outside in the 5600 block of South Maplewood Avenue just before 9 p.m. when two assailants fired shots and fled the scene, police said.
The unidentified 17-year-old was shot multiple times in the body and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The girl was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition with graze wounds to the leg and head.
No one is in custody and Area 1 detectives are investigating.
