The <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/tom-selleck-recalled-working-frank-sinatra-magnum-p-i.html/?swcfpc=1″>79-year-old actor </a>was recently spotted in New York City as he prepared to say goodbye to <em>Blue Bloods </em>for the final time. </p>

<p id=”par-2_58″>On Tuesday, Oct. 16, photographers captured Selleck at the city’s JFK airport. The <em>Magnum P.I. </em>star wore a blue button-down shirt and a scarf. He was in the city ahead of the premiere of the second half of <a href=”https://cheatsheet.com/tag/blue-bloods”><em>Blue Bloods</em></a><em>‘ </em>final season. The show kicked off its final run of eight episodes on Friday, Oct. 18 on CBS. </p>

<p id=”par-3_46″>During his visit to the Big Apple, Selleck joined his <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/donnie-wahlberg-teary-filming-final-blue-bloods-family-dinner.html/”><em>Blue Bloods </em>co-stars</a> onstage for a panel discussion at PaleyFest NY on Oct. 17. During the conversation, he said that it was difficult not to be heading back to work on new episodes of the show. </p>
<p id=”par-4_28″>“We’d be working about now on the schedule, and I really miss that,” he said (via <a href=”https://deadline.com/2024/10/tom-selleck-cbs-blue-bloods-first-episode-last-season-1236119600/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Deadline</a>). “But what I miss most is my friends, my actor family.” </p>
<p id=”par-5_36″>“That opportunity that we had, that gift of once, every eight working days, seeing everybody … You could always look forward to that. It’s two families – the Reagan family and the acting family,” he added. </p>

<p id=”par-6_18″>In recent interviews, Selleck has expressed his disappointment at CBS’ decision to cancel <em>Blue Bloods </em>after 14 seasons. </p>
<p id=”par-7_31″>“I’m kind of frustrated,” he told <a href=”https://www.tvinsider.com/1154539/blue-bloods-series-finale-tom-selleck-interview-exclusive/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>TV Insider</a>. “During those last eight shows, I haven’t wanted to talk about an <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/find-out-final-blue-bloods-episodes-air-cbs.html/”>ending for <em>Blue Bloods</em></a> but about it still being wildly successful.” </p>
<p id=”par-8_36″>Selleck went on to note that the cop drama performed well in the ratings despite being stuck in an undesirable timeslot (10 p.m. ET on Fridays). He felt the show never got the credit it deserved. </p>
<p id=”par-9_36″>“My frustration is the show was always taken for granted because it performed from the get-go,” he said. “So how do I feel? It’s going to take a long time to sort all of this out.”</p>

<p id=”par-10_33″>Though Selleck is frustrated that <em>Blue Bloods </em>is ending, he struck a gracious note at PaleyFest, giving props to the network for allowing them to wrap up the show in a satisfying way. </p>
<p id=”par-11_39″>“These eight shows that we can look forward to are because CBS agreed and wanted to do that and celebrate – not only celebrate <a href=”https://deadline.com/tag/blue-bloods/”><em>Blue Bloods</em></a> but commemorate its legacy,” he said. “And I just wanted to thank them.”</p>
