Abby Dahlkemper scores late as Bay FC picks up three crucial points with win over North Carolina

SAN JOSE — Bay FC is on the precipice on a playoff berth in its inaugural season.

Abby Dahlkemper’s dramatic goal off a set-piece service from Racheal Kundananji in the 83rd minute ensured that the expansion side earned three critical points with a 1-0 win over the North Carolina Courage on Saturday night at PayPal Park.

Bay FC is now one point away from securing a playoff spot in its first season in the NWSL. Bay FC is in sole possession the eighth and final postseason spot with 31 points, tied on points with seventh-place Portland.

With any result that leads to points in its season-ending match at Houston on Nov. 2, Bay FC will make the playoffs.
