Bark-Tober – Animal Resource Fair: Sylmar Neighborhood Council presents the second annual event that includes pet vaccinations, microchip and wellness exams for dogs and cats, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 19. Día de los Muertos at Gloria Molina Grand Park: The opening day of the event with the theme “Finding Peace Through Memories and Hope for the Future” includes 19 ofrendas (altars) created by individual artists and organizations, dance and musical performances plus activities for park-goers, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 19. Discovery Cube Los Angeles – Enchanted Halloween Evenings: A mix of science, magic and Halloween fun for families, 5:30 p.m. Oct. 19 and 26. Forneris Farms – Happiness Is…a Corn Maze!: Celebrating the 75th anniversary of Charles Schulz’s “Peanuts” comic strip, Peanuts Worldwide selected the Mission Hills-based Forneris Farms (one of more than 75 farms in North America to be selected) to create a “Peanuts” maze. The Forneris Farms maze covers two and a half acres — Snoopy inside of a smiling jack-o-lantern. Maze hours: 1-5 p.m. Monday and Friday; 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday; through Nov. 3.
