‘Electric’ D’Andre Swift paces Bears vs. Jaguars

LONDON, England —  For the third straight game, D’Andre Swift looked like the running back the Bears paid dearly for in free agency. He paced the Bears with 17 carries for 91 yards and a touchdown and caught four passes for 28 yards.

“The big thing about Swift is, get him out in space because then he can be electric,” coach Matt Eberflus said.

Swift can feel the Bears making progress.

“I feel like we’re getting better week to week,” he said. “I still feel like we haven’t played our best game yet. Still trying to search for that.”

Kyler hurt

The Bears lost cornerback Kyler Gordon to a hamstring injury in the third quarter. Coach Matt Eberflus said he was optimistic that it was a minor injury for Gordon, who was moving well in the locker room after the game

“Kyler is a really good player for us — he plays the hot spot for us at nickel,” Eberflus said. “We’re hopeful.”

The Bears finished with three backups in the defensive backfield. Safety Jaquan Brisker stayed home after suffering a concussion last week and cornerback Tyrique Stevenson hurt his calf in practice Thursday. He wore a walking boot Sunday.

Soldier Field east

The Bears have won nine straight home games — and yes, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium counts.

Most of the 61,184 fans at the game wore navy — and were loud. The Bears brought over their public address announcer and featured the same music and other scoreboard features seen at Soldier Field.

Receiver DJ Moore told Keenan Allen before the game to expect a raucous crowd.

“I’m not used to that,” Moore said. “That was solid.”

This and that

• Guard Nate Davis, who had already been benched, was a healthy scratch. With Teven Jenkins healthy, the Bears carried Bill Murray, Doug Kramer and Kiran Amegadjie as backup linemen.

• Moore left the game in the third quarter with a shoulder injury but returned.

• On third and fourth down, the Jaguars committed six penalties — one on offense, on special teams and four on defense. Late in the third quarter, their defense was flagged on three straight third-down plays.
