Boy killed, man injured in shooting at Adams County park

A boy was killed and a man was injured in a Saturday night shooting at an Adams County park, according to sheriff’s officials.

Adams County deputies responded to reports of shots fired at Rotella Park — near Welby at 1824 Coronado Parkway — around 11:18 p.m. Saturday, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

When deputies arrived at the park, they found a boy who had died from his injuries and a man with a gunshot wound to the leg, sheriff’s officials said.

Sheriff’s officials did not specify what the relationship between the two shooting victims was.

The shooting is under investigation as deputies and detectives talk to witnesses and family members. Sheriff’s officials said anyone with information about the shooting should call Adams County investigators at 303-288-1535.
