A man was wounded in a shooting in Austin on Saturday afternoon, Chicago police said.
The man, 40, was near the sidewalk in the 5100 block of West Chicago Avenue at 2:55 p.m. when a person approached with a handgun and shot at him, police said. He was struck in the abdomen, back and leg and taken to West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park in serious condition.
No one is in custody.
