<p id=”par-1_52″>It’s not all sunshine and adventures on <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/outer-banks/”><em>Outer Banks</em></a>. Well, OK, maybe it is <em>most</em> of the time for the Pogues, but while filming season 4 of the hit <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/the-diplomat-season-2-unanswered-questions-premiere-2-teaser-trailer-answered.html/”>Netflix series</a>, there were some moments that didn’t sit well with Chase Stokes (John B). Particularly those where onlookers disrupted the filming process. </p>

<p id=”par-2_41″>Speaking to <a href=”https://www.cosmopolitan.com/entertainment/celebs/a62194181/outer-banks-season-4-interview-chase-stokes-drew-starkey/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Cosmopolitan</a> with his co-stars <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/outer-banks-rudy-pankow-chase-stokes-head-injury.html/”>Rudy Pankow</a> (JJ), Jonathan Daviss (Pope), and Drew Starkey (Rafe), Stokes opened up about some “disrespectful” moments on set. Specifically, what often happened when members of the public went beyond quietly watching the cast work.</p>
<p id=”par-3_36″>“We had a lot of moments this season where you’re in the middle of filming a scene in public,” he said. “And then there’s three people standing there yelling your character’s name or taking a video.” </p>
<p id=”par-4_24″>“People don’t really understand that it is a job,” Stokes added. “And it’s disrespectful to the people that are working with us, our crew.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_64″>Daviss compared it to performing onstage. “Imagine it like this—when we’re filming, it’s like we were doing a play,” he said. “And if you were watching a play, and somebody was up there giving their monologue and you were screaming at them, they’d probably get a little pissy because they have to be in a very specific mode to achieve the performance they’ve honed.” </p>
<p id=”par-6_38″>“So we’re not so much angry at the fact that you enjoy what we’re doing,” he continued. “It’s just that that could have been the take that I really, really wanted to be on camera—and now it’s unusable.”</p>

<p id=”par-7_37″>This isn’t the first time Stokes has been vocal about fan interactions. While shooting season 3, he took to Instagram to ask fans who see them on set not to share the details of what’s being filmed. </p>
<p id=”par-8_48″>“If you see us outside work, we will always say hello and love to meet you all,” he wrote on his Instagram Stories. “But please…give us a little more respect in our workplace and for those people who don’t want to see the show till it’s fully out.” </p>
<p id=”par-9_26″>Asked how he decides when to say something, he shared that it comes down to being tagged in posts “of the pivotal moments in the show.” </p>
<p id=”par-10_35″>“When you spend so much time on something,” he explained, “you want people to consume it in the ways that it’s supposed to be consumed, not an eight-second clip on TikTok that gives no context.”</p>

<p id=”par-11_33″>Summer continues for the show’s fans <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/outer-banks-season-4-release-schedule-parts-1-2-premiere.html/”>when <em>Outer Banks</em> premieres</a> on Oct. 10, 2024. Unlike previous seasons, however, the Pogues’ latest adventure is coming to screens in parts, not a single 10-episode drop. </p>
<p id=”par-12_38″>That means that on Oct. 10, only Part 1, which consists of the season’s first five episodes, will begin streaming on Netflix. Then, on Nov. 7, 2024, fans will get to see the next five for Part 2. </p>
<p id=”par-13_33″>This time around, the Pogues make an effort at a “normal” life, but it doesn’t last. Before long, they’re setting out to find Blackbeard’s treasure in the face of an impossible financial deadline.</p>
