Person reported dead in fire at commercial building in Denver’s RiNo neighborhood

One person was reported dead Tuesday morning after a fire in Denver’s River North Art District and arson investigators are on their way to the scene, according to the Denver Fire Department.

Denver firefighters responded to reports of a commercial structure fire at Wazee and 36th streets around 7 a.m. Tuesday, according to the fire department.

Fire officials didn’t say which business caught fire Tuesday, but the area is home to multiple warehouses and manufacturers, apartment buildings, restaurants, a winery and tasting room, a sports arena and a gym.

The fire was under control by 7:30 a.m. and one person was found dead inside the building, Denver fire officials said. Arson investigators are responding to the scene as crews work to determine how the fire started and how much damage was done.
