Man fatally shot in Carson

CARSON — A man was shot to death Sunday morning at his home in Carson, authorities said.

The shooting occurred at about 4:10 a.m. in the 40 block of North Camelback Avenue, just east of Avalon Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities said a fight occurred inside the attached garage to the home between four people and three suspects who had walked into the garage from the alley. One of the suspects pulled out a gun during the fight and fired a shot at the victim.

“Two of the suspects ran southbound on foot into the alley from the garage,” sheriff’s officials said. “The third suspect was inebriated and remained at the scene. He was detained and questioned by deputies.”

Deputies arriving at the scene saw a black pickup truck leaving the location with the gunshot victim and detained it. They performed CPR on the shooting victim prior to the arrival of paramedics, who rushed the victim to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to call the sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Callers who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or send tips to lacrimestoppers.org
