OAKLAND — Two men were shot, one multiple times, within nine hours Monday in different areas of the city, authorities said.
The shootings are not related, authorities said.
About 10:15 p.m. Monday a 25-year-old man was shot at least twice outside near his home in the 1000 block of 62nd Street in North Oakland.
He was shot by someone who approached him on foot and fled before police got to the scene.
The man was taken to a hospital where he was in critical but stable condition Tuesday.

A motive for the shooting is under investigation. No arrests have been made and no suspect information was released.
About 1:20 p.m. a 31-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 8400 block of International Boulevard in East Oakland by another man he apparently knew, whom he had gotten into a verbal altercation with, authorities said.
The suspect fled before police arrived. What the altercation was about has not been released.
The victim was in stable condition at a hospital
