One of Colorado’s top BBQ spots planning fourth location

The restaurant: G-Que BBQ; 2681 E. 120th Ave., Thornton

About: G-Que BBQ is renovating a former Wendy’s in order to open its fourth location. The other three are in Westminster, Lone Tree, and Lakewood. The company also has branded kiosks Empower Field at Mile High, Coors Field, the Coors Event Center and Folsom Field.

What’s on the menu: Smoked brisket, pork ribs, wings, hot jalapeno cheddar links, sandwiches, house-made sides like mac and cheese and pit-smoked beans and weekly specials. G-Que Thornton will also serve ice cream from Ice Cream Farm

Who’s cooking: Owner Jason Ganahl, who grew up in Missouri, is a Rocky Mountain BBQ Hall of Fame inductee and “winner of a combined 19 Grand or Reserve Grand championships in professional BBQ contests,” according to the company. Ganahl is married to Heidi Ganahl, the Colorado Republican Party’s gubernatorial nominee in 2022.

More: The new location will have a full bar with everything from local beer to craft cocktails. It will also feature a “Que Through” service, where guests can pick up orders without leaving their cars.
