3 shot in South Shore

Three people were wounded, two critically, in a shooting Thursday night in South Shore on the South Side.

Around 10:40 p.m., two men, 25 and 23, were in a silver car stopped at a red light in the 7500 block of South Stony Island Avenue when a red van approached and at least one person inside opened fire, Chicago police said.

The younger man was shot in the chest and neck and he was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was in critical condition, police said.

The older man was shot in the upper leg and was taken to the same hospital in critical condition, officials said.

A 46-year-old woman also stopped at the light but in a different dark-colored SUV was shot in the right arm and went to Jackson Park Hospital where she was in fair condition, authorities said.

No one was in custody.
