Prince William and Kate Middleton Caught on Camera Doing the Same Thing Prince Harry and Meghan Have Been Criticized For

<p id=”par-1_42″>After the shocking announcement in March from the Princess of Wales (<a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/dont-be-fooled-this-is-what-kate-middleton-was-really-like-in-school.html/?swcfpc=1″>formerly known as Kate Middleton</a>) that she <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/lip-readers-reveal-kate-said-prince-william-emotional-video-celebrates-end-chemotherapy.html/?swcfpc=1″>had cancer and was undergoing preventive chemotherapy</a>, Prince William’s <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/royal-commentator-says-husbands-should-not-prince-william-kate-middleton-public-avoid-tension.html/”>wife</a> released a <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/lip-readers-reveal-kate-said-prince-william-emotional-video-celebrates-end-chemotherapy.html/?swcfpc=1″>video</a> on Sept. 9, sharing that she has completed her treatment is “cancer-free.”</p>

<p id=”par-2_32″>That was welcome news to all of the princess’s fans around the world who were delighted by the video of her family, which was posted on social media accompanying her message. </p>

<p id=”par-3_59″>But there is another video that was released days earlier that is also heartwarming and being viewed by people across the globe as well. And it shows the Prince and Princess of Wales doing something quite often that many royal watchers never really noticed before. It’s also something <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/prince-harry/?swcfpc=1″>Prince Harry</a> and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/prince-harry-was-able-to-marry-meghan-markle-because-she-didnt-do-this-1-thing-in-her-past.html/”>his wife, Meghan Markle</a>, have always done. </p>

<p id=”par-4_68″>The one-minute-and-four-second video, which was <a href=”https://x.com/freedom_007__/status/1830346795576377642″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>posted to X (formerly Twitter)</a> on Sept. 1, has racked up more than 60,000 views and 2,000 likes so far. It contains a montage of clips featuring William and Kate at various engagements and events together. The song playing over the video is The Bangles 1988 hit “Eternal Flame” and the caption reads: “Marry your best friend like Prince William and Catherine did.”</p>

<p id=”par-5_57″>As the footage shows, no matter where they are, the prince and princess are always touching and being affectionate with each other. There’s even some hand-holding. And what’s interesting about that is over the years Meghan and Harry have been criticized by some for being overly affectionate when William and Kate were doing the same thing. </p>

<p id=”par-6_27″>The video proves that the Waleses are very tactile, but they’re just more discreet than the Sussexes and an expert says there’s a reason for that. </p>

<p id=”par-7_71″>Body language expert Judi James told <a href=”https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/life/1668162/kate-middleton-prince-william-hold-hands-public-reason” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Express</a>: “[Will and Kate’s] more tactile PDAs include back-touches or placing an arm around each other’s waists. These gestures reflect high levels of affection and attraction … As top-tier royals, they would have inherited the tradition of not performing (as much) PDA like hand-holding. The queen and Philip rarely touched in public apart from the odd arm-hold and [King] Charles tends to be the same.”</p>
