An early morning crash Friday on Interstate 70 shut down the eastbound interstate near Edwards in Eagle County, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

Around 5:02 a.m., CDOT officials said the interstate was closed between Exit 163 for Edwards and Exit 167 for Avon.
Drivers should exit eastbound I-70 at Edwards, detour onto U.S. 6 and reenter I-70 at Avon, according to a CDOT detour.
