Attorney Neama Rahmani spoke in depth to <a href=”https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/why-cassies-lawsuit-against-diddy-settled-so-quickly-lawyer-breakdown/”>Us Weekly</a> about how historic the case was at the time.</p>
<p id=”par-7_45″>“This has to be one of the fastest settlements in American history,” Rahmani told the publication. “We’re talking about one day. The reason that this lawsuit was settled was probably the reason that it was filed in the first place. Cassie ran out of time.”</p>
<p id=”par-8_28″>Rahmani asserted that the statute of limitations for cases of this nature was approaching. So Cassie had a short window of opportunity to file against the music mogul.</p>
<p id=”par-9_33″>“Cassie was up against the clock and the parties really were unable to finalize their negotiations before that window was going to close. So, she was forced to file a lawsuit,” Rahmani added.</p>

<p id=”par-12_92″>Still, the lawsuit started a domino effect that might’ve resulted in the gradual collapse of Diddy’s multi-million dollar empire. Diddy was accused of sexual assault by multiple women after Cassie’s lawsuit, a lot of them stemming all the way from the 1990s. In March 25, 2024, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/sean-p-diddy-combs-no-choice-sell-la-mansion-due-legal-fees-source-says.html/”>Diddy’s Los Angeles mansion</a> was raided by the Department of Homeland Security. Items were also seized from Diddy’s Miami Beach mansion on the same day. Some of these items included guns and ammunition, drugs, and sexually explicit material that may have supported the allegations against Diddy.</p>
