<p id=”par-1_30″>Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone is a <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/sports/”>sprinter and hurdler</a>. The former University of Kentucky track <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/celebrity-athletes/”>star</a> is the world record holder in the women’s 400m hurdles and a two-time <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/olympics/”>Olympic</a> medalist. </p>
<p id=”par-2_43″>McLaughlin entered the 2024 Paris Games as the favorite to take home another gold, and someone who will be cheering her on every step of the way is her husband. Here’s more about Andre Levrone Jr. and why you may recognize him. </p>

<h2 class=”wp-block-heading” id=”h-when-the-couple-met-and-got-married”>When the couple met and got married</h2>
<p id=”par-3_70″>McLaughlin and Levrone started talking through social media in 2020 after he commented on a photo she posted. The two decided to meet up in person and according to McLaughlin, she knew he was the one just a few days after they met. Levrone was also smitten and said by the third date, he was absolutely positive he wanted to be with her for the rest of his life. </p>
<p id=”par-4_18″>In August 2021, Levrone proposed at the Four Seasons Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona, and McLaughlin happily accepted. </p>
<p id=”par-5_42″>They tied the knot in May 2022 at Early Mountain Vineyards in Madison, Virginia. The bride wore a Pallas Couture gown and a veil by Vera Wang with Jimmy Choo heels, while the groom donned a suit by Brian Alexander with Salvatore Ferragamo shoes. </p>

<h2 class=”wp-block-heading” id=”h-levrone-is-a-retired-athlete”>Levrone is a retired athlete</h2>
<p id=”par-6_9″>Levrone was born on March 9, 1995, in Laurel, Maryland.</p>
<p id=”par-7_43″>He played football at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School before enrolling at the University of Virginia. After graduation, he signed with the Baltimore Ravens in 2018. The wide receiver also had stints with the Carolina Panthers and the Jacksonville Jaguars. </p>
<p id=”par-8_15″>McLaughlin appreciates her husband’s background as an athlete and that he understands her world. </p>
<p id=”par-9_41″>“I’m so grateful for Andre because he understands the athlete life, the day-to-day, what it takes, and all the little things,” McLaughlin told <a href=”https://people.com/sydney-mclaughlin-levrone-shares-how-now-husband-andre-slid-into-her-dms-my-biggest-hype-man-exclusive-8553390″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>People</a>. “We’re very similar just in how we’re wired because of that, which helps us understand each other.”</p>

<p id=”par-11_27″>Levrone has been a fixture on hand and rooting for his wife at many of her races. He says that supporting her is something he enjoys. </p>
<p id=”par-12_83″>“I have a vision in life, she has a vision in life, and we just kind of merged our visions,” he explained per <a href=”https://wonaconcept.com/sydney-mclaughlins-magical-pre-wedding-photo-shoot/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Wona Concept</a>. “And being able to just model that the two of us are partners and what I like to call ‘co-laborers’ in life. And in this season of life, me primarily supporting her and her dream and her calling is fun for me. And just knowing how supportive she is of me as well and in the long term.”</p>
