Aurora officers responded to reports of a crash at the intersection of Havana Street and Tennessee Avenue around 9:15 a.m. Thursday, according to a statement from the police department.

The motorcyclist — an unidentified adult man — was killed in the crash and paramedics took the two people in the SUV to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, police said in the statement.

Officers shut down northbound Havana Street between Tennessee and Mississippi avenues for the crash investigation, and two of Havana Street’s southbound lanes are blocked at Tennessee Avenue, police said.

The road is expected to be closed for at least another hour, and drivers should expect delays in the area, police said. Officers are encouraging people to use Dayton and Peoria streets as alternate routes.
