Westbound I-70 reopens near Vail after crash, vehicle fire

Officers were on the scene of the fatal hit-and-run crash at the intersection of West 14th Avenue and Carr Street around 1 a.m. Wednesday, the Lakewood Police Department said in a statement on social media.

Both directions of West 14th Avenue were closed west of Carr Street for several hours Wednesday morning for the investigation, police said. The intersection reopened to traffic around 4:30 a.m.
