The couple has reportedly had marital issues for several months, and sources claim they’re well on their way to divorce. Lopez lives in the couple’s $60 million mansion in Beverly Hills, while Affleck lives in a $100,000 monthly rental near his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, and their three kids. </p>

<p id=”par-4_75″>Lopez didn’t join Affleck and his kids on the outing, as <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/jennifer-lopez-will-go-move-new-york-ben-affleck-divorce-source-says.html/”>she spent time in New York City</a>. On July 3, 2024, she posted a meme to her <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/stories/jlo/3404364725826251845/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Instagram Stories</a> of a woman in a suit dancing with the caption, “Long weekend mood.” She then posted a clip of her driving in a convertible with one of her kids and another man. The three of them looked happy as they drove through the streets. </p>
<p id=”par-5_15″>“Bom dia meu povo,” she captioned the clip, which translates to, “Good morning, my people.”</p>
<p id=”par-6_42″>It’s possible that Lopez returned to the West Coast on July 4 after spending July 3 in New York City. However, given the couple’s recent time spent apart, it seems likely that they’ll spend their holiday weekends separately with their kids. </p>

A source told <a href=”https://www.etonline.com/jennifer-lopez-is-enjoying-having-breathing-room-from-ben-affleck-while-vacationing-in-europe” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Entertainment Tonight</a> that Lopez liked having the “breathing room” away from her husband.</p>
<p id=”par-8_57″>“Jen loves vacationing in Europe during the summer,” the source explained. “It’s been nice for her to experience a change of pace and have some breathing room. She has been having a blast with her friends. They love to go to fun dinners, have late nights, lay out in the sun, get dressed up, dance, and shop.”</p>

However, Jacqueline Newman, a managing partner at the matrimonial law firm Berkman Bottger Newman & Schein LLP, said in a statement to Showbiz Cheat Sheet that <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/jennifer-lopez-ben-affleck-already-signed-divorce-papers-attorney-says.html/”>they might’ve already signed papers</a>. </p>
<p id=”par-12_86″>“It feels like they are trying to let the public down easy by dropping hints about the marriage ending but not yet officially announcing it,” Newman said. “If it is, in fact, over, I would bet that the terms are already worked out and the papers are already signed. The actual legal part of the divorce will be easy, as they undoubtedly have a tight prenuptial agreement, and it was a short-term marriage. It is the court to public opinion which will be the tougher divorce.” </p>
