Simone Renee Austin was found dead by firefighters responding to a house fire in the 600 block of North Bersshine Street at 10:04 a.m. Monday, according to the coroner’s office and fire officials.

The coroner’s office declined to release further details about her death Tuesday, citing the ongoing investigation and the need for further testing.

Fire and sheriff’s office officials have declined to say whether the circumstances of the fire or Austin’s death were suspicious but confirmed Monday that fire investigators from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Arapahoe County investigators and crime scene investigators all responded to the scene.
