Westbound Interstate 270 is closed near Interstate 25 due to a fire in the tunnels underneath the interstate, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

Fire crews responded to reports of propane tanks catching fire in an encampment under the highway overpass, said Sgt. Adam Sherman.
The ramps from Interstate 76 and U.S. 36 to northbound I-25 are also closed for the fire and northbound and southbound I-25 lanes are blocked, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation. Drivers should seek alternate routes to avoid heavy traffic from the closures.
