MOUNTAIN VIEW — The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office on Monday identified a woman hit and killed by a vehicle in Mountain View over the weekend as Mary Ellen Cabanski Evers, 59, of Mountain View.
Around 8:20 p.m. Saturday, police officers and firefighters were dispatched to the intersection of El Camino Real and Palo Alto Avenue for reports of an unconscious woman lying in the street, according to Mountain View police spokeswoman Katie Nelson.
Nelson said the woman was pronounced dead a short time later.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision, described only as another female adult, remained at the scene and was cooperative with investigators, according to Nelson.
Nelson said while the cause of the collision remains under investigation, drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors for the driver.
Westbound lanes of El Camino Real and Shoreline Boulevard were closed Saturday night as a result of the collision.
