Future 2 Thorn Quest: Learn how to get Thorn unique in Season of the Drifter – ALL Quest Steps

With last week’s arrival of “Season Of The Drifter”, Destiny 2 has received even more content – at least for annual pass holders. Arriving at this week’s Destiny 2 Reset is the opportunity to pick up the Exotic Questline to earn Thorn.

For Destiny aficionados, Thorn is well known for being one of the most overpowered weapons in the original game’s lifetime.

Able to deal massive damage, and cause enemies to be damaged over time after being hit, Thorn became the go-to weapon for PVP enthusiasts.

This latest incarnation may be even more powerful – while the original effect (“Mark Of The Devourer”) applies, triggering the damage over time now causes Remnant Fragments to drop.

Grabbing these triggers another perk (“Soul Devourer”) which refills the gun’s magazine and makes the next shot’s damage over time effect more powerful – ouch.

But for now, you’ll likely want to know how to claim this Exotic weapon for yourself.

Well read on, we’ll explain all in detail.

While you’ll definitely want to get your hands on it, doing so won’t be easy. For starters, the start of the quest is hidden in the EDZ. Check out the video below to find it.

After that, you can use the steps that the Destiny database and font of all knowledge Light.GG has shared.

Step 1:

Once the burned remains of Thorn drop into your inventory, your first step is to deliver it to Banshee-44, commonly known as the Gunsmith.

Rather than forcing players to complete a PVP quest, there are three options to proceed with.

The first one, aimed at solo players, is simply to complete bounties on Io. If you are in the mood to fight some other Guardians, you can also kill Warlocks in the Crucible. Finally, if you’ve got a decent fireteam, you can complete the Nightfall instead.

Each of these steps will provide you with “Hadronic Essence”, and presumably you can mix and match.

Step 2:

Next, you’re required to earn “Plasteel Plating”, which can be done by completing bounties on Titan, killing Titans in the Crucible, or completing the Blind Well public event. All pretty self-explanatory, but in case you’d forgotten the Blind Well can be found in the Dreaming City.

Step 3:

The next stage is also remarkably similar – this time you’re harvesting Sapphire Wire by completing Mars Bounties, slaying Hunters in the Crucible, or completing Escalation Protocol waves.

Thankfully, the latter option is likely to be well populated as many players are still grinding for some of the weapons that drop from Escalation Protocol.

Unfortunately, this is where the quest becomes a bit of a grind. You’ll need to not only playCrucible, but rack up kills using a Void Hand Cannon and Void Abilities.

There aren’t many weapons to choose from that meet those requirements, but check your “Collection” tab to see if you can find one that suits you well.

Step 5:

You’re nearly there. Next you’ll need to speak to Tyra Karn at “The Farm (remember that place?) in order to get the final stage of the quest which is to play a high-level version of the Savathun’s …read more
