Drake Bell has confirmed that beloved sitcom Drake and Josh has a revival in the works.
Featuring Drake and Josh Peck in the titular roles as two (occasionally warring) stepbrothers, this Nickelodeon classic broadcast from 2004 until 2007 and managed to leave a dent in the pop-culture consciousness.
The idea of a revival series has been discussed many times, but now, it looks like that beautiful possibility is getting closer to a reality.
Speaking to on the iHeartRadio Music Awards red carpet recently, 32-year-old Bell teased: “We’re working on something. I’m excited. I think we have a great idea.
“[The show] is going to be way more creative, way cooler than just you know the college years or something like that.”
He then elaborated on how this wasn’t a decision the team took lightly.
Bell said: “We knew that if we were ever going to come back, it’s got to be something cool. I’m excited to see what the fans think.”
“We’ve known each other for so long, and it really is once in a lifetime in this industry that you get to work with somebody and it clicks like that,” he noted, referencing his excitement at reuniting with his co-star.
“He’s just got an amazing comedic wit and incredible timing and he’s really smart and we really get along. So I think that it just kind of all goes together.”
