Yes, it’s the day of love and just like everyone else, Netflix too decided to give some of it away to us, because honestly it’s become a hell of a useful tool to celebrate all sorts of ‘chills’ we may want to with our loved ones.
On Valentine’s Day though, Netflix has come out with a beautiful video to celebrate all kinds of love and we found it so endearing we had to go ahead and share it. The poetic journey of falling in love is a tale as old as time. From ‘Mughal-E-Azam’ to ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, each story is filled with moments which remind us just how powerful human connections can be.
The video is a beautiful rendition of a modern-day love story between two men, who hopelessly fall in love with one another and live to celebrate their love, every day.
As their relationship develops and their love grows stronger and ‘stranger’. We follow them as they lay the foundations for their lives together… along with a small hiccup on the way. One of them watches an episode of their favourite show ‘Stranger Things’ without the other and what follows next is so endearing, it’ll make you want to forgive every fight you may have ever had with your SO!
After all, at the end of the day, every relationship is an ‘ Original’.
This love story was brought to life by acclaimed filmmaker Reema Sengupta. Through an emotive palate and lingering visuals, she captured this manifestation of Indian romance in all of its beauty.
” We wanted to come together to make a film that cares about what it says, how it says it and the processes through which it is made. It was exciting to know that Netflix cared just as much! Netflix really has become an integral part of the modern love story. A considerable portion of our relationships today are spent lazing around with our partners watching Netflix, discussing shows, or Netflix & chilling!
A lot of love went into making this, and we all came out of it feeling much closer. Even while we were making the film, the entire crew could feel the importance of this representation and pushed themselves to the limit to bring this to life.” Reema spoke about her film to Netflix.
After all, if we can’t transcend the love we have for one another into stories then what’s the point of even having love, to begin with! Stories catch the very essence of everything basic you need to fulfil an emotion and if we have a story on our favourite love portal, then there’s nothing like it, is there!
It’s time to show courage, tell your story and aptly profess your love for one another this Valentine’s Day!
