The Ottawa Senators confirmed Friday that forward Jean-Gabriel Pageau will miss a minimum six months after having surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon in his right leg.
Medical update: #Sens centre Jean-Gabriel Pageau suffered a torn achilles tendon in his right leg during training yesterday. Surgery was performed last night to repair the injury and he is expected to miss a minimum of six months.

The news was first reported by TVA Sports’ Renaud Lavoie on Thursday evening.
According to multiple sources, news are not good regarding Jean-Gabriel Pageau today. Could be out from 4 to 6 months and a surgery to repair a Achilles’ tendon could be necessary. @Senators

Drafted by Ottawa in the fourth round (96th overall) in 2011, Pageau scored 14 goals and 29 points in 78 games for the Senators last season. In 329 career regular-season contests, the Ottawa native has 59 goals and 130 points, adding 12 goals and 16 points in 35 post-season games.
