Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, who has pleaded guilty to lying to federal investigators and admitted to working as an unregistered agent for Turkey, has accepted a new job with a global lobbying firm, The Wall Street Journal reports. Despite the possibility of jail time looming in his future as he awaits sentencing, Flynn will reportedly be involved in Stonington Global LLC, which seeks to provide consulting and lobbying services for both domestic and foreign clients.
“I said to him, your life should not be stopped,” said Joey Allaham, who launched Stonington Global with his partner, Nick Muzin. “He has experience all over the world. He can do a lot for us. We are very lucky to get a man like that.”
Flynn’s son, Michael Flynn Jr., will also join the firm. Flynn and Flynn Jr. reportedly met with Turkish government officials in December 2016 and allegedly discussed the possibility of kidnapping Pennsylvania-based cleric Fethullah Gulen, who is an enemy of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
