The New York Islanders and forward Jan Kovar have agreed to terms on a one-year contract. The deal is worth $2 million.

Kovar spent the past five seasons in the KHL with Magnitogorsk Metallurg. He averaged better than a point per game in the KHL, scoring 97 goals to go along with 189 assists in 285 games.
The 28-year-old has represented Czech Republic internationally at five World Championships.
