Alberta NDP trolls Stephen Mandel on Twitter with upside-down photo

The Alberta NDP appears to be having a little bit of fun at former Edmonton mayor Stephen Mandel’s expense.

Mandel is of course slated to announce his leadership bid for the Alberta Party later today.

At 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, the Alberta NDP Twitter account tweeted out an upside down photo of Mandel, with the words #ableg, the hashtag commonly used for Alberta politics.

The NDP tweet appears to be in response to a series of upside-down photos that Mandel himself tweeted on Tuesday.

However, the tweet garnered plenty of negative reactions from people accusing the NDP of being insensitive.

You really think now’s the time to wisecrack about anything to do with cancer, two months after Stephen lost his daughter to lymphoma? How tone deaf can you be? #ableg https://t.co/me7PLJVFQB

Was it malicious or just pure stupidity? Either way, joking about anything cancer related after the man just lost his daughter to lymphoma is completely inappropriate. My God, honestly. #ableg #yeg pic.twitter.com/5UCuKDk6YP
